UNESCO world heritage in Slovakia

UNESCO Logo

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) seeks to encourage the identification, protection and preservation of cultural and natural heritage around the world considered to be of outstanding value to humanity

“Heritage is our legacy from the past, what we live with today, and what we pass on to future generations. Our cultural and natural heritage are both irreplaceable sources of life and inspiration. Places as unique and diverse as the wilds of East Africa’s Serengeti, the Pyramids of Egypt, the Great Barrier Reef in Australia and the Baroque cathedrals of Latin America make up our world’s heritage.”

What makes the concept of World Heritage exceptional is its universal application. World Heritage sites belong to all the peoples of the world, irre spective of the territory on which they are located.

At the turn of the 13th and 14th centuries colonists from Silesia settled down near the settlement lying on the main communication route. In 2000 Bardejov was enlisted into UNESCO World Heritage List.

Testimonials INTRO Text

" Dear Peter, Kole and I would again like to thank you for sharing your home country with us. You introduced us to the beauty of your country and it truly was beautiful! You were able to include so many castles that I know Kole will be talking about for years to come. We liked the intimacy of the trip – 3 visitors and you, our driver and guide. From the Danube River to the Tatra Mountains and so many places in between you shared your country’s history and culture with us. You knew exactly where to take us for lunch and dinner so we could dine on local foods and drink."

Marlene Polasek from Illinois, USA wrote on August 11, 2010. She, Kole & Edward spent 8 days on tailor-made guided tour around Slovakia & Prague."
