Our history

Best Slovakia tours company - established & started out  in 2007, sharing the cultural riches of a country that is fascinating, endlessly diverse, and somewhat daunting to tour independently.

Due to strong client interest in extending their travels beyond Slovakia,
we expanded our destinations in 2009 to include neighbouring countries like Austria, Czech republic, Hungary, Poland,
in 2010 we added Slovenia and Croatia. We are preparing Romania & Bulgaria.

What really set our tours, and our clients, apart was our focus on medieval architecture and our passion for connecting with local people. With that in mind we have continued to develop exciting and varied destinations.

And so were our beginnings...

May 2007 - first tour organized by Best Slovakia tours team
We organized a tailor-made tour to Slovakia with special interest - eastern Slovakia, family meeting & wedding participation.
US citizens with Slovak roots Mrs. Lori Beresford, her daughters Elisabeth & Alexandra... & Lori's sister Juli & Lori's mother. And me, organizer, driver/guide, translator & entertainer.

First reference...
"Hi Peter, I think the trip went well. We probably could have used one more day. (In Slovakia) Everything went as I expected it to, even better I think. It was nice to accommodate us for the wedding. 
You as a translator were very good and a very important part of the trip. We would have not enjoyed the wedding or the visit with the family if we did not have a translator. Thank you!! 
All of the accommodations were satisfactory and even some very nice, everyone liked the pension in Bojnice. The itinerary was pretty good but another day would have been more relaxing I think. Although I really did not expect much relaxing as we we were moving around quite a bit to see as much as possible. I like the town of Bardejov and I think others traveling from the US would also like to visit this town."
