DAY 1, Welcome to Slovakia !

DAY 2, Bratislava - City tour & Devin castle
Breakfast from 8.00. VIP Sightseeing Tour - 2hrs walking tour with a professional guide where you visit the highlights of the city such as Primate Palace (the largest palace in Bratislava where the Treaty of Pressburg in 1805 was signed), St. Martin Cathedral (one of the largest gothic construction of Bratislava where between the years 1563-1830 the coronations of 19 rulers including Austria-Hungarian empress Maria Theresa took place), Michael's gate - the only preserved gate from medieval times, Slovak National Theatre, City Hall, historical narrow streets, squares and lots more.

We continue by minibus to see Slavin War Memorial (a cemetery is a place of reverence where 6845 Soviet soldiers are buried who perished during the liberation of Bratislava and its environs in April 1945), Bratislava Castle (an important fortified settlement at the end of the 9th century. The first written reference to Bratislava from 907 is related to this period). You also know more about life under communist regime and see buildings from communist era. Lunch break.

We'll show you Devin castle (built on the cliff (altitude of 212 meters) at the confluence of the Danube and Morava rivers was an ideal place for a fort. Its owner could control the important trade route along the Danube as well as one branch of the Amber Road. That is why the site has been settled since the Neolithic and fortified since the Bronze and Iron Age. Later, both the Celts and the Romans built strong fortresses there..). Free Programm.

DAY 3, UNESCO sights: Banska Stiavnica town, Vlkolinec village
Breakfast from 8.00. We start a day with a city tour to see the highlighs of this beautiful former mining town, listed in UNESCO. Or – Welcome to the land of miners ! The glorious history of Banska Stiavnica started with the year 1238 when it was bestowed the privileges of a royal town. We will visit here the Old Castle, New Castle, a mining museum & Knocking tower. Great souvenir shops is located on the main square. We'll visit mining shafts with an experienced guide -miner. This tour takes around 1hr 30min.

Lunch break. Transfer to Vlkolinec village (1hr 20min drive), inscripted in UNESCO in 1993, a remarkably intact settlement of 45 buildings with the traditional features of a central European village. It is the region's most complete group of these kinds of traditional log houses. Take your time for taking pictures...The village & surrounded area -hills & valleys- is fabulous.
Transfer to Bardejov town takes arund 2hrs 50min (205km/127miles). Free time.

DAY 4, UNESCO sights: Bardejov town
Breakfast from 8.00. Bardejov (north-eastern part of Slovakia), best-preserved medieval town was established on a trade route to Poland in the 13th century. Many historical buildings from this era have been preserved up to the present, furnishing Bardejov with its unique medieval atmosphere. The town is surrounded by ramparts with 11 bastions and two gates.
The picturesque central square, flanked by the Gothic & Rennaissance burgher houses and the Gothic St. Egidius Cathedral from the 15th century. The interior contains priceless 11 Gothic altars from 15th century still standing in their original positions. You'll visit remarkable Town Hall, Executioner's house, fortification walls & synagogue.

Lunch break & sightseeing tour around the city center. Transfer to area where the famous wooden churches are. The small hamlets scattered over the countryside here are home to Slovakia's Ruthenian minority, an ethnic group which belongs to the Orthodox Uniate church. There are up to 30 protected sacred buildings in this area, all built between the 15th and 20th centuries. we'll visit two or three of them. Transfer to Kosice (1hour drive).

DAY 5, UNESCO sight: Slovak karst
Breakfast from 8.00. Kosice city - an important cultural, scientific and commercial centre of Slovakia. The favourable natural conditions here attracted the first settlers in the Stone Age. The first monasteries were established here in the 11th-13th centuries and Kosice§ growth was given a boost bz the arrival of German settlers in the 13th century. The Golden Age (15th cent.) when Kosice was a centre for trade and crafts and one of the biggest towns in the whole Kingdom of Hungary.
Kosice is now home to a number of universities, scientific institutions, theatres, philharmonic orchestra and a number of foreign and international companies, all of them giving this city a lively and cosmopolitan flavour.
Let's do the sightseeing tour and explore the city. Visit the main square and the Gothic St. Elisabeth Catedral (the biggest Gothic church in Slovakia), Jesuit church & monastery, Franciscan church & monastery, Miklus's prison - one of the best preserved structures from Middle Ages, Eastern Slovak Museums -15th-17th century gold coins from all over Europe.
Lunch break & transfer to Slovak karst 1hour drive). The most extensive and most developed karst area in Slovakia. The plateau-like area is divided by rivers into a system of plateaus with numerous above-ground and underground karst phenomena (such as lapiés, karren fields, karst holes, caves and abysses). Here are situated some of Slovakia’s best-known caves open to the public –Jasovská and Ochtinská aragonitová jaskyňa.
The cave of Ochtínska, for instance, offers a unique display of underground karst with extraordinary decorations of clusters and bunches of milk-white aragonite, precious in terms of their mineralogy. we'll visit both caves. Transfer to Levoca. Dinner & overnight in Levoca.

DAY 6, UNESCO sights: Levoca town, Spiss castle
Breakfast from 8.00. The historic town LEVOČA situated in the east of the Spiš region is a true cultural and historic jewel among the Slovak towns as it possesses a great number of architectural monuments linked with the glorious past of the town. The Higlights of the Levoca is the Roman-Catholic church of St. Jacob built in 14th century & its largest wooden altar in the world, masterpiece from Master Pavol of Levoca.
Transfer to Spiss castle.
Spiss Castle. It is not just an evidence of architectural development from the 12th to 18th century. With its area of 41 426m2 it is one of the largest castles in Central Europe.On the way back you visit Spisska Kapitula - a municipal cultural reservation, highlights are St.Martin Cathedral with its valuable interior, especially the Gothic altars, statues, tomb stones and bishop palace.
Transfer to Bratislava 4hrs 30min drive), the capital of Slovakia. Our last dinner, we'll give you pictures on CD-ROM of your holiday, a great bottle of wine Made in Slovakia. Overnight in Bratislava

Breakfast from 8.00. Check-out & Free Time for shopping or walking around the beautiful City Centre until your departure. Transfer to the airport.

      This will depend which tour you will choose. As many tours start in Central Slovakia, the most convenient is to flight to the closest international airport in Krakow, Poland.
