Don’t let winter deter you!! Our tour of Banska with Peter on a cold January day was fantastic. Banska was both interesting and stunning. If you’re looking to get out of the hustle and bustle of the big city this is the tour to take. We did the tour recently and we’re able to take in this little town and learn how it use to be and how it is today. The tour goes at your pace so you never feel rushed. 1 thing to be aware of is that this tour envolves a lot of hills. I’d recommend this tour to anyone that has an extra day in Bratislava. The tour company communicated with us and we had no concerns going into the tour. Probably our most favorite tour we took in Slovakia. Thanks again / Chris / USA / Sept 2024

We had an excellent tour to Banska Stiavnica with Peter. Peter is a highly professional, dedicated and informative guide. The sites were beautiful and the place is packed with history. We highly recommend having lunch at the Ruin Bar ( the only one in Slovakia, we were told). We highly recommend Best Slovakia Tours. You will have an awesome tour and time. We had such a great experience with Peter. Pickup at the hotel was perfect, the drive was smooth, and Peter went above and beyond to accommodate us. We had a wonderful tour of the very cool mining city, the castle, a delicious lunch, and still made it back in time to take the boat to Vienna! Peter is incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and has a real talent as a guide. We can’t wait to come back and do another tour with him! Tim

If you are looking for a day trip to a picturesque town in the Slovak countryside, this is a great choice. Our guide was knowledge and spoke excellence English. Highly recommended! Read on for a more detailed description: Great tour! Martin was our tour guide and he picked us up about 2 mins from our Air BnB. The ride to Banska Stiavnica was about 2 hours-the end of the ride has a lot of hills and tight turns, so if you get motion sick easily you can let your guide know to slow down and he will.
Banska Stiavnica is quite picturesque-your first stop is at a museum that used to be a lookout tower. Martin, our guide, was very informative and spoke excellent English as he led us through a tour of the museum. Then, we walked into town, where Martin told us about the town’s past as a mining town. We also went to the castle, where we saw the prison cells, bell tower, and some of the old artwork. There was also an option to do a tour of the Stations of the Cross church, but we opted not to do that.

Afterwords, we had lunch at a local restaurant which was very good. The day ended with us going back into town, doing some souvenir shopping, and eating some ice cream. Afterwards, Martin drove us back. Christine

Our trip to Banska Stiavnica with Best Slovakia Tours is amazing from the very beginning. Peter is quick response and answer all my questions. The day of the tour, Martin picked us up from our hotel and then we started our wonderful journey with him, Martin is very knowledgeable and resourceful and caring. We really enjoyed our time with Martin! We had a blast!
We can’t thank him enough! Highly recommend the tours with Peter and his team, especially Martin, my all time favorite! Hope to go back someday and have another tour with this wonderful team!

This tour was a lovely snapshot of a charming town in the middle of Slovakia. Peter was a fantastic tour guide, and he provided so much information about the town itself as well as the history of Slovakia and its place in the region.
