I attended the Slovakia Ancestry Tour in May 2025. Peter and Michal were the tour guides for the trip. What a wonderful experience! We traveled across the entire country of Slovakia, from Bratislava in the west all the way to the far reaches of the east, with many great stops in between. It was great to sit back and enjoy the scenery while Peter and Michal drove and told us about Slovak history, geography, and culture. There were plenty of stops along the way with a great variety of sights to behold. I also got a chance to visit a couple of my ancestral villages along the way. I highly recommend a Best Slovakia Tours trip!

My daughter and I had a wonderful adventure in the country of her great-grandparents through the personalized and welcoming services of Best Slovakia Tours (“Slovak Ancestry Tour”). We visited historic cities like Levoca and Bardejov, and saw natural beauty of the countyside and Tatra mountains. We sampled traditional crafts (pottery in Modra), food (including my best-ever wine-tasting experience in Tokaj region), and music. We also visited the new Museum of Slovak Emigration, which would be of interest to family history buffs. Peter, a native of Bratislava, shared his perspective on the changes in Slovakia during his lifetime. He was resourceful in offering alternative experiences in inclement weather and in making suggestions for use of free time. Michal, with his background in genealogy, is helpful in finding ancestral villages and possibly connecting with living relatives. My husband and I had used his help during our 2015 travel, also with Best Slovakia Tours. Our guides have been fluent in English, which is invaluable! I highly recommend this family-owned business which has proved helpful, reliable, and a valuable resource for becoming acquainted with this beautiful country.
