Nicknamed as a copper town for its mining activities in the era. We walk around the square, climb up to the “leaning” Clock tower to get the best views. We still can see some of the original town walls three bastions. Admire the Thurzo house.
In 1944 it became the center of the Slovak National Uprising. The second-largest insurrection against the German Nazi regime. We enter the museum of the Slovak National Uprising. Get a comprehensive History lesson not only about mining and era.
