Only an hour from busy Bratislava is located a lovely little town Skalica, it attracts visitors with lots of interesting sights, nature and Skalica Red wine called Rubín červený, Skalica sweet cake called Skalický trdelník.
Skalica, a former royal town, in the 17th century used to belong among the top 5 most important towns, nowadays, we can admire the beautifully restored heart of the city center, triangle-shaped square with its dominant – parish church of St. Michael, all architectural styles scattered around and even the oldest Romanesque Rotunda of St. George.
