One of the most extensive European castles – Trencin rose up on massive limestone rock, forms the skyline of fashion and music town – Trencin.
Firstly, we walk up to this mighty fortress, to get the views, know the most important castle owners such as Matus Cak Trenciansky, known as the Lord of the Vah river and the Tatra Mountains”, hear interesting legends such as about the famous “Well of Love” – the 80m deep well. The impregnable castle houses museum, galleries, and feudalistic exposition.
The “must” is seeing a legendary Roman inscription on the rock from 179 A.D. We look around the town, enjoy beautiful Main Square, see the Piaristic church, and finish the tour by lunch at the restaurant once built for the aristocrats.
