Only 2hrs east from Bratislava we can admire one of the richest towns of the former Kingdom of Hungary. It was the king Charles Robert who in the 14th century gave privileges and Kremnica became free royal and mining town. A special privilege was that of a coinage. The mint of Kremnica, - is the world oldest still running mint.
The mint of Kremnica also produced the ducats, which were highly praised for their quality and beauty and joined the most favourite coins in Europe. We’ll walk around the town square and admire its dominants – the Baroque Trinity Pillar, the Kremnica Town Castle, the gothic Church of St. Catherine and one of the best-preserved town fortifications.
