Less than an hour and we are in the oldest Slovak town. The dominant standing above the town is Nitra castle built in the 11th century on the site of a former Slav fort, the seat of the Nitra Princedom and Great Moravian rulers. Today it is the seat of the Bishopric of Nitra.
Visit of the oldest surviving part of the Cathedral – the Romanesque church of St Emeram. Afterward, a visit to calvary and enjoy spectacular views, followed by a short city tour. Lunch break in the town. Enough time to try tasty Slovak beer or wine from the area as well as some Slovak specialties.
