DAY 1

WELCOME TO ROME – THE ETERNAL CITY

DAY 2

ROME WITH A LOCAL SPECIALIST AND LA DOLCE VITA

Our local specialist will introduce you the rich history of Rome. Start with a visit of Colosseum, – the greatest Roman amphitheater and main symbol of Rome. We‘ll go back in time into the times of Roman Empire, visit it from the outside as well as from the inside. In the past 50 000 people enjoyed spectacles with gladiator fights, exhibitions of exotic animals. In the year 2007 Colosseum became one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World. We’ll continue with the Roman Forum, – the hub of political and social activities of the Roman citizens, we admire many temples such as Saturn, Venus, Romulus, Vesta, walk along Via sacra – once the main street in ancient Rome.

Time for a tasty lunch, followed by a visit of the most beautiful fountain in Rome (and one of the most world famous fountains). Have you been told to throw a coin into the Fontana di Trevi / Trevi Fountain? We’ll show you how and why. Comfortable walking from Piazza del Popolo up to Piazza di Spagna and visit of the Spanish steps.

DAY 3

CITTA DEL VATICANO – VATICAN CITY

We’ll visit one of the oldest and most visited complexes in the world – Città del Vaticano or simply, Vatican City. It is the smallest state in Europe, an independent city ruled by the Pope (Bishop of Rome) and the seat of the Roman Catholic Church. Walk on St. Peter’s square visit of St. Peter’s Basilica and of course one of the Vatican museums to see the Sistine Chapel and Michelangelo’s ceiling frescos. Lunch and cross the bridge to see Pantheon, Piazza Navona.

A short walking tour through the narrow cobbled streets of the Trastevere quarter, one of the most charming neighbourhoods in Rome and tasty genuine Italian dinner.

DAY 4

DAY TRIP TO VESUVIO & POMPEI

We’ll drive to see the Vesuv – the volcano that rises above the Bay of Naples. Vulcano Vesuvio had been dormant for centuries before the great eruption of 79 AD that buried the cities of Pompei under ashes and Herculaneum under a mudflow. We’ll také a tour to the top of the Vulcano.

We’ll reach the parking area, take a local shuttle to climb to the lower slope of Mount Vesuvius, we’ll get the tickets and continue to walk up to the top (1170mASL). The views are spectacular.
Drive to Pompei (40min) and take a 4hours private guided tour (with a local specialist) We’ll start at Forum (Foro), which was one of the most striking spots in the ancient city. A large square with triumphal arches, public buildings, the basilica, the market and the temples. The Forum was the city’s main spot for all civic, religious and commercial activities.

DAY 5

ROME – MONTEPULCIANO – SIENA / TUSCANY

Leaving eternal city Rome and getting ready for another adventure. Tuscany – the wonderful region famous for its hilltop towns, picturesque landscapes,  full of history (from Etruscans to the Renaissance) and of course, vineyards and wine production.

 We’ll visit a wine maker and start with the home-made Italian lunch, followed by a first-class wine tour trying the famous wines such as Brunello di Montalcino.

Drive to Siena (50min). Siena’s city centre is a UNESCO jewel and one of the best preserved medieval towns in Italy. Time for a lovely walking tour to see the fascinating Siena’s city centre. We’ll admire the seashell shape square Piazza del Campo, the heart of Siena with its sights: Incredible Palazzo Comunale and one of the oldest and tallest towers in Italy – the Torre del Mangia. (what about climbing around 400 steps and to enjoy infinite views over the red roofs of Siena?) Enough time for pictures, then, we’ll explore the Gothic Cathedral.

DAY 6

SIENA – FLORENCE

After the wonderful breakfast in the Toscan countryside, we’ll drive to Florence.
We’ll start with a Quality Sightseeing Walking Tour in Centro Storico “the city centre’ on Piazza Del Duomo.  Florence’s Cathedral stands tall over the city with its magnificent Renaissance dome designed by Filippo Brunelleschi), Cathedral’s full name is Santa Maria del Fiore. It took 2 centuries to be finished. Giotto’s Bell Tower, an example of the Florentine Gothic architecture of the 14th century (414 steps bring you to the top and you can enjoy special views or would you like to climb to the top of the Brunelleschi’s dome which is 463 steps?) A typical Florentina street – narrow, dark and lined with small independently owned businesses. Palazzo Vecchio and its tower of Arnolfo are one of the symbols of Florence (95m) Cross the Ponte Vecchio, or the Old Bridge, until the 13th centure the only bridge to cross the Arno river.

DAY 7

A DAY IN FLORENCE – THE CRADDLE OF RENAISSANCE

As we already have got the tickets, we’ll skip-the-line and visit the famous Academia Gallery to see Michelangelo’s greatest masterpiece, David. Then, at the historic heart of Florence, we’ll visit the Uffizi where we can admire the finest collection of Italian paintings by Leonardo, Botticelli and Michelangelo. Lunch and free afternoon.

Before dinner, we’ll drive up to Piazzale Michelangelo and enjoy the beautiful panoramic view of the Florence’s old town.

DAY 8

PISA – CITY OF THE LEANING TOWER – CINQUE TERRE

We’ll drive to see the world-famous Leaning Tower in Pisa. Would you like to climb up the tower? It is a once-in-a-lifetime activity. Enough time for pictures. We’ll walk on the Square of Miracles, the Cathedral and the Baptistery. Lunch and continue to Cinque Terre.

DAY 9

CINQUE TERRE

Today, we’ll enjoy an easy walking tour on the Azure trail, it offers breathtaking views of the sea and the hills. Distance 3.3km / 2miles, 1hr 30min).

Relaxing time in Vernazza, a small fishing village often described as one of the most beautiful in Italy. and a tasty Italian lunch. On the way back, we’ll take a train.

Walk up to the symbol of this town – castle built on the rocky cliff, take a guided tour, later walk over the bridge, take pictures from the best view points.

DAY 10

MILAN – THE FASHION CAPITAL / REGION LOMBARDY

We’ll drive to Milan, lunch and start with the Quality Sightseeing Walking Tour. The impressive Duomo,- the extravagant Gothic Cathedral adorned with 135 spires and 3400 statues….. , Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, Rinoscente, La Scala. Dinner in the elegant Brera district.

DAY 11

LAKE COMO

We’ll drive to Lake Como and visit the lakeside resort Bellaggio. Lake Como is simply a gorgeous lake surrounded by green hills and picturesque villages. We’ll take a boat ride, then, enjoy delicious North Italian cuisine. Relax with some drink, souvenir shopping, or just walking around and taking pictures. Back to Milan. Dinner at Porta Nuova.

DAY 12

VERONA – VENICE / NORTHERN ITALY – VENETO REGION

Today’s first stop will be in Verona, the UNESCO World Heritage sight and the home of Romeo and Juliet, a place of history, culture, music, architecture and of course, the great food and wines.

Short walking tour, Romeo and Juliet balcony and tasty lunch trying Veronese specialties and Verona DOC wines, Amarone – vibrant red wine with spicy aromas nicknamed as the queen of Valpolicella, Recioto – pleasantly sweet dessert wine with floral and fruity notes.

We’ll continue to Venice, with a private boat will get the first touch of this magical place. We’ll admire the majestic palaces on Canal Grande such as Ca’dÓro / Golden House, Ca’Foscari Univeristy and Basilica La Salute, the Rialto Bridge. Short evening walk and dinner.

DAY 13

VENICE – ‘LA SERENISSIMA’ / THE MOST SERENE

We’ll start with a Quality Sightseeing Walking Tour on Piazza San Marco. St. Mark’s Basilica, Campanile (with elevators we can admire Venice from 98m/323ft. Absolutely breath taking.). The stunning architercture of the Palazzo Ducale /Doge’s Palace, the Republic of Venice’s seat of power for around 900 years. Pictures of the famous Bridge of Sighs. Walk around the narrow streets to famous Rialto Bridge.

DAY 14

PERUGIA / UMBRIA REGION / ITALY’S GREEN HEART

Today, we’ll drive to wonderful green region Umbria and stay an overnight in Perugia. The history of this city goes back to the ancient Etruscans, who settled here centuries before Christ. Lunch – try some traditional regional dishes such as torta al testo (Umbrian-style flatbread with cured meats and cheeses), stringozzi al tartufo (a typical Perugia pasta with a sprinkling of the precious truffles from Norcia), and a short walking to to see the city centre, Palazzo dei Priori / the Municipility office, 13th century Fontana Maggiore, – the symbol of Perugia. Dont forget to try the famous Bacio chocolate.

DAY 15

ASSISI – ROME

We’ll drive to Assisi town, sitting on the slopes of Monte Subasio. It is  famous as the birthplace of St. Francis, the founder of the Franciscan order (Assisi was also the birthplace of St. Clare, the founder of the religious order known as the Poor Clares). St. Francis is one of the most venerated figures in Christianity and together with St. Catherine is a patron saint of Italy.

We’ll visit the most notable landmark – the Basilica of San Francesco from 13th century, then, we take a stroll along via San Francesco where you can buy some souvenirs. Visit Piazza del Comune, the main square of Assisi and see the Temple of Minerva (the 1century BC).
We’ll see the Basilica of St. Claire, teh 13th century style, built few years after the death of Saint Claire. Tasty lunch and drive to Rome. Farewell dinner (included).
