Come and enjoy our excellent trekking tours in this oldest national park with the highest peaks in Slovakia.

The main attractions in High Tatras (Vysoké Tatry in the Slovak language) are tours to the peaks while enjoying truly spectacular views, deep valleys, dwarf pines, more than 100 mountain lakes, and several waterfalls.

There are almost 30 peaks over 2500 meters. The highest peak is Gerlachovský štít, 2654 meters (8707 ft), the second-highest is Lomnický štít, 2634 meters (8641ft), it is also possible to visit the top of this peak by cable car.

As the symbol of Slovak, mountains are considered spectacular Mt. Kriváň, 2494 meters (8182 ft).

National Park of Tatras is home to mountain goats, eagles, brown bears, lynxes, and wolves. Our guide will have a binocular, so with a little bit of luck, we might spot some animals in the distance. The group size is 4 to 8 people. We want to keep it as a Small Hiking Group.

Equipment required: waterproof clothing, raincoat, trekking boots, backpack

Some of the mountain chalets might not be available due to limited places for overnights. Of course, we have alternative chalets.

    “Hello Peter.
Sorry for taking so long to get back to your request. We didn’t get home till the end of September. Then we were home for a week and went to San Francisco. It was a really busy time away, and challenging being back again with everything going on. My mother’s turning 100 on December 7! Overall we were pleased with the trip. Chata Bilikova was wonderful, exactly what we were expecting. The second place we stayed in, Chata Popradske Pleso for three nights, was fine for us, but more challenging for Stephan to get up and down to because they didn’t allow cars to come and go freely. Everyone was great where we stayed. Of course the only true challenge was the weather, and we certainly understand there’s nothing to be done about that!!! The third day in the mountains, because of the rainy forecast, Stephan took us to some caves, and around the local area. vThe fourth day the weather improved and we hiked up Rysy Peak. So we had a great chance to see some beautiful views, even though it still poured rain by the time we returned!! The next day we left the High Tatras, and Stephan thought, due to the weather forecast, we would have to abandon the plan to hike up the Sucha Bela Canyon! Yet, the weather improved, and we had a great 2 hour hike. Stephan left to return home, and we stayed the night in Ranc u Trapera, and it was great. Dana joined us the next day to drive us to Levoca, Spis Castle, and Kosice. She then dropped us off in Budapest. She was very personable and fun, and I’d loved to have spent more time with her. So, overall we enjoyed the trip. You live in a beautiful country, and we’ve told everyone how lovely the countries are, and so easy to travel around. I’d never met anyone who had been to Slovakia. Let me know if you need any other information. It was also nice meeting Jane. Ciao! Janice / Canada
